4th of July, part II

After our not-so-fun adventure to the Elysian parade, we made our way to the Thompson residence to just chill the rest of the day. Their little girl, Lauren, is one of Elliot's good friends. They usually play quite well together when they're not going after the same toy. Since it was such a nice day, we let the kids play outside for awhile. Lauren had a new toy she was eager to play with- the big yellow school bus. Elliot thought it was pretty cool too.
But after awhile, he decided to check out the other side of the driveway. All he found there was more grass, so he headed back. He's not quite walking yet, so on surfaces he doesn't like- like cement, sand, and grass- he does this sort of crab-walk crawl up on all fours, butt in the air.

Here is Lauren, Elliot, and me (Anna).

After a long day of fun, there's nothing like taking a bath with your best friend! And what mom can resist this photo op?

After this we put the kids to bed and we able to catch some of Mankato's fireworks from the driveway. It was a great, relaxing way to end the day!
